| Rental Frequently Asked Questions Q. What are the requirements for some one to be able to rent a motorhome? A. You must have a valid driver's license, be an insured driver, have a valid major credit card, and be 25 years of age or older. Q. Is a special drivers license required for a motorhome? A. No. A regular, valid, state issued license is all that is required. Q. Why do you rent Class C's? A. The Class C's have large bunks over the cab and will generally sleep six to ten people. Many people feel that it is easier to drive a Class C because it is more like the van that they may have driven in the past. In addition, the driver and passenger doors of the Class C's make getting in and out of the motorhome more convenient. The Class A's, although larger than the C's, sleep fewer persons & get fewer miles to the gallon of gas. Q. What kind of gas mileage can I expect to get? A. In all of our motorhomes you can expect to get about 8 to 12 miles per gallon depending on size. Q. How many people can travel in a motorhome? A. That depends on the particular model. There are seat belts for as many as 10 in a class C. Q. I have never used a motorhome before and am somewhat uneasy about it. A. Before you leave our lot you will be given a thorough demonstration of how everything works. We also provide back up written instructions on how everything works and a video is available. We won't let you leave until you are comfortable! Q. How far in advance should I make a reservation? A. As the availability is limited, our motorhomes book up pretty fast. We recommend that you contact us three to four months in advance for peak season (May thru Sept.) reservations and one to two months for the rest of the year. Q. How much does it cost to rent a motorhome? A. Our rates are based on what type and size motorhome you choose, how long you want to use it and how far you will travel. Please email us or call us and we will be happy to provide you with a complete package quote. Rental payments are refundable for 60 days toward the pruchase of a motorhome. Q. Can I rent a motorhome for one day? A. Generally we do not allow one day rentals. Since the demand is high and the availability is limited, there is a 3 day minimum in the off-season and 4 day in the peak season. However, at times it may be possible to relax this restriction to allow shorter rental periods. Please contact us for availability for your specific dates. Q. I am thinking about purchasing an RV, but I've never used one before. A friend at work suggested that I rent one first to see if I enjoy the RV lifestyle. Is this a good idea? A. Renting is an excellent way to find out if you'll enjoy RV'ing! You will find out a number of things by renting a motorhome first, such as: what is the right size; would I rather have a Class A or C; what kind of floor plan works best for me; etc. At worst case you will find that RV'ing is not for you but, at least, you will have had an interesting vacation. |
